Download F1Mate Video Edits for your PC

F1Mate Video Edits is a free, open-source desktop video editor for Windows and Apple Silicon Macs, created by Amit Gupta. It gives you the tools you need to turn raw clips into a finished video, without a subscription and without a steep learning curve. Whether you are cutting a travel vlog, a race weekend recap, a tutorial or a short reel for social media, everything is on one clean screen: the video preview, the tool panel, the playback bar and a multi-track timeline.

Your work starts in the project library. Create a new project with a single click or by dropping videos and photos onto the window, then organise your projects into folders in grid or list view. Every project is saved automatically, so you can close the app and pick up exactly where you left off. Deleted projects stay in Deleted Videos for 30 days, which means an accidental delete is easy to undo.

The timeline is built for real editing. Stack your main video with Picture-in-Picture tracks, text tracks and as many audio tracks as you need. Film strips and waveforms show you what is on each clip, and you can mute, hide, lock or rename any track. Drag clips along a track or between tracks, split them at the playhead, trim them with handles or exact times, and remove an unwanted section with Mark In and Mark Out. Undo and redo cover the last 100 steps, and preview proxies keep playback smooth even with large files.

When the cut is ready, make it look the way you want. Choose from 11 filters with live thumbnails, fine-tune the picture with 12 Adjust sliders such as exposure, shadows, saturation and warmth, and add motion with 10 effects including Ken Burns, slow zoom and shake. Link clips with 9 transitions, set any of 11 canvas options for vertical, square or widescreen video, and fill empty space with a blurred, coloured, image or video background. Speed runs from 0.25x to 4x with an option to keep the pitch, and you can also crop, rotate, flip and reverse your clips.

Text and sound get the same attention. Add titles in 8 fonts and control their colour, background, outline, shadow and opacity, then move, resize and rotate them directly in the preview. Place a video or photo over your main footage with a rectangle, rounded or circle mask. Import music, extract audio from a clip, or record a voiceover straight into the timeline with a 3-2-1 countdown, a choice of microphone and optional noise reduction.

Exporting is just as flexible. Choose 720p, 1080p, 2K, 4K or a custom resolution, a frame rate up to 60 fps, MP4 or MOV, and H.264 or H.265. You will see the estimated file size before you start, and you can keep using your computer while the export runs in the background. FFmpeg is bundled with the app, so there is nothing else to install.

F1Mate Video Edits follows your system's light or dark theme, uses the keyboard shortcuts you already know, with Ctrl on Windows and Cmd on macOS, and is released under the GPL-3.0 licence. Choose your operating system below to download the latest version and start editing today.
